How To Make A Rustic Floor Mirror From A Barn Door Style

A large mirror is a great idea for your home.

Because they reflect light, mirrors can enhance any room and make it appear larger or brighter. If you’ve been thinking about buying a large mirror, this is the one to choose. This mirror will match any rustic furniture you might have in your home.

What You’ll Need:

  • 41 cm x 152 cm beveled edge door mirror
  • 2 pcs. 2 pcs.
  • 2 pcs. 2 pcs.
  • Drill
  • Screws
  • Sanding block
  • Wood stain
  • paint brush
  • Scrap woodblocks

Step 1: Measure The Wood And Cut It

Take these measurements and cut the wood to these sizes

  • Two pieces of 57 cm length and two pieces of 25 1/10cm in length from the 3 cmx15cms
  • Two pieces measuring 620 cm in length from the 3 cmx10cms

Step 2: Make Pocket Holes In The 57 1/20 Cm Board

Two pocket holes should be drilled on each side of the 57 cm long pieces.

Step 3: Assemble Your Mirror Frame

Combine the short and long pieces to create a rectangle frame. This should result in a rectangular frame.

All pieces can be attached using pocket hole screws.

Step 4: Glue On The Wood Strips

The 620 cm should be glued to the frame at 3 cmx10 cms each side. This will make the mirror appear thicker and give it more support. These should be flush with the frames at both ends. Then screw everything in place.

You will do the same with the smaller strips at the top, and bottom of your frame. Allow the glue to dry for several hours.

Step 5: Sand The Frame

Sand the entire frame to even out the edges and remove any glue.

Step 6: Use Rocks Or A Hammer To Beat The Frame

For rustic look, use knuckle-sized rocks to pound the frame or a hammer. It will add character and accent features to the frame with random scratches and dings.

Step 7: Apply The Wood Stain

Use a paintbrush to cover the entire frame in your preferred wood stain. You can go even further and jazz up the rustic theme with this amazing paint trick.

Step 8: Use The Scrap Woodblocks To Install The Mirror

Once the frame has dried, you can get approximately 10 scrap woodblocks. To lock the mirror in place, place it at the back of your frame.

Attach the woodblocks to your frame.

Don’t forget to attach a fabric strap to the back of the mirror. Now your mirror will brighten up any room in your house.
